Exhumations

It is an offence to disturb any buried human remains, this applies to both coffin or cremated remains without first obtaining lawful permision.

Permission of the grave owner must be gained.

A licence from the home office must be obtained.

If the person is buried in consecrated ground, permission from the church must be obtained.

If the person is to be repatriated abroad a cadaver certificate is required.
